cough
Cough, cough, cough. The cold/flu/whatever ended last week, but it was nice enough to give a body-racking cough as a parting gift. I am no longer Jess; I am only Cough.I got some meds from my doctor, and a coworker (who was a doctor in China) heard me coughing and was nice enough to bring me some traditional Chinese herbal syrup, which helped minimize the irritation. I loved the packaging so much I decided to post an image.
Sorry to whine, I'm really doing okay, nothing some antibiotics can't fix.
Right now I'm working on an Actual Knitted Garment, when I'm not too busy busting a gut. A pullover, knitted from the top down on circulars - my favorite sweater-making method. I'm sort of making the pattern up as I go along and it seems to be working out okay. I'm knitting it from the mess of Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk I received as a Christmas present last year, in a lovely shade of celery green, and I think it's going to be a keeper. Once you feel this incredibly soft yarn you will want to buy several hundred pounds of it, in order to make a pile of it to jump into and roll around in. I have calculated that this would cost a few thousand bucks, but man, would it be fun.
For those of you joining me courtesy of boingboing, welcome. I will let everyone know if I have any toys for sale in the coming months. In the meantime, there's always my booklet of toy patterns, available next week (eee!). I've heard from many people over the past week or so and I am so overwhelmed and pleased with their kind words and interest in my wacky toys. I couldn't believe how many guys wrote to tell me that they want to learn to knit just to make a robot! That's pretty neat.

I am one of them. I have been watching how to videos and getting lots of knitting books from the library. I also told all the knitters I know about your book coming out. I can't wait to make my own robot. your things are just too cute!
I hope your cough gets better.
My beloved wants me to knit him a robot, so I will be awaiting the arrival of your pattern. They're very cute
My brother (a sort of famous animator) is a giant fan of your robots! He was very excited when I told him there may be a pattern in your booklet. Be well, I've found Chinese medicines to be very good for colds.
Hi Jess, I'm fond of your creations too and love the fact that you use cuddly soft yarn. Alpaca silk must be heaven to knit with and make anything with. I'm looking forward to more of your critters.
Can't wait for your pattern booklet!! I am so excited! Your work is so awesome, it is really cool that you are sharing it with the rest of us. :)
Thanks for making me laugh! Can't wait to see your booklet, and I'd love to see what pattern you're knitting on the circular needles...
I hope you feel better really soon- what a crummy way to start out the fall. I'm wanna get one of your booklets too!

Oh I'm so excited! How do we get this booklet of toy patterns? Is it going to be online? Do we purchase one from you? I saw your robots this morning at schmancy (in seattle) and it was quite difficult for me to leave without one.
...oh silly me! I didn't see the links on the side...
